SJ’s X40 train arrived in Oulu by rail from Sweden using the transfer bogies developed by VR FleetCare. VR completes first train under its first rolling stock modernisation project in Sweden for Norske Tog

VR FleetCare, the rail fleet maintenance and wagon manufacturer, has launched a modernisation project for the Norwegian rolling stock company Norske Tog. The contract covers a total of 34 Class 72 electric multiple units and demonstrates VR FleetCare’s strong position as a rolling stock maintenance expert in the Nordic region.

VR is investing EUR 10 million in Pieksämäki - The new wheelset lathe strengthens Finland’s security of supply

VR has commissioned the new rolling stock wheelset maintenance centre, Wheel Works, and a modern wheelset lathe in Pieksämäki. The investment significantly strengthens Finland’s security of supply and the operational reliability of rail traffic, as Finland now has two wheelset lathes that are critical for rail traffic operations instead of one.

VR FleetCare strengthens its position as a rolling stock maintenance expert – new contract in Sweden

VR FleetCare has signed a significant contract with AB Transitio, which is based in Sweden, on the heavy maintenance of the bogies and main power switches of Dosto (ER1) trains. The contract covers heavy maintenance work on 60 electric multiple unit trains, manufactured by Stadler, between 2026 and 2030.
