Pasi Oikkonen Appointed to VR FleetCare's Operations Director Position

Pasi Oikkonen, MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, has been appointed as Operations Director in VR FleetCare's new Operations function. In his new role Pasi will be responsible for establishing unified processes and long-term operational planning, as well as continual improvement in safety, quality, and productivity across VR FleetCare's production units.

VR FleetCare provides air conditioning maintenance for trams and M300 metro trains

VR FleetCare's service operations are expanding to the maintenance of air conditioning systems in light rail vehicles in the Helsinki metropolitan area. The planned annual maintenance and inspections of air conditioning systems in trams and metro trains operated by Metropolitan Area Transport Ltd are scheduled to take place between 2023 and 2024. A total of 50 M300-series metro trains and 52 trams will undergo these maintenance procedures.

FleetCare will overhaul 12 M200 metro trains during 2023

During the overhaul, a total of 12 M200 metro trains manufactured by Bombardier in 2000–2001 will be modernized at the Helsinki depot. The overhaul will be carried out in two stages; the first prototype phase includes the overhaul of two metro trains, and the subsequent serial production phase includes the rest ten M200 metro trains.

Large rolling stock modernisation project for VR FleetCare from SJ

The cooperation of the Finnish rail fleet maintenance company VR FleetCare with the Swedish railway operator SJ AB is evolving. The two companies have signed an agreement to modernise X40 train fleet, with the aim of extending fleet’s life cycle and improving the travel comfort of customers. The agreement now signed, includes a comprehensive modernisation of the X40 fleet's 27 electric trains and an update of the passenger information system. The agreement is worth over EUR 35 million.
