VR FleetCare at Scandinavian Rail Optimisation virtual workshop

Welcome to a workshop focusing on the use of smart digital solutions and data in the rail ecosystem. In addition to the presentations, there is plenty of time for open discussion in the workshop.

From VR FleetCare, Mikko Alanko, Sales and Development Director of SmartCare services, talks about the maintenance company’s role in asset management digitalisation.

I work currently as the Sales and Development Director at VR FleetCare, which is a subsidiary of VR Group, the Finnish railway operator. My mission is to find new ways how digitalisation and data can change rail fleet and track maintenance and create more value to the asset owner. I have previously led the fleet planning at VR Group and therefore understand the complex world of rail operator and fleet owner. I have a strong development mindset mixed with wild imagination.
